I have seen miracles here on my mission

This week has been amazing i have come to realize how much love i have for the scriptures and how much help and guidance they contain. I have seen miracles here on my mission. I have seen people change for the better. This coming up week on May 6th we will be having a baptism.we have been working with this young man for while he is 19. This young man when we met with him he had a lot of questions, but these certain questions were not going to be able to help him grow in the gospel. Several of weeks passed and he finally wanted to meet with us again, as we met with him we shared a Mormon message " You don't know everything but YOU know enough" as he watched this video his eyes filled with tears and he told us that a week ago he wrote down his testimony of the things he knew to be true. As he read his testimony to us i realized that he said " i might not know everything but i know enough to guide me and help me return back to my heavenly father" i know that the spirit prompted us to share that message he realized that he needed to stick to the basics, which is faith in Jesus Christ,repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the holy ghost and enduring to the end. This young man truly knew that once he had faith all of his questions would be answered through the power of prayer and the power of the holy ghost. It is a privilege to see one of heavenly fathers children come to realize that this is the only true church of Jesus Christ.

 

We also met with a young man about in his late 20's. He is a member but hadn't been to church in years. We met him through our recent convert he had no place to live at and she was kind enough to let him stay at her place. Me and my companion had no idea of this situation, we felt prompted to go to her home and there he was sitting on the couch. I know we were sent to this young man to help him regain his faith in Jesus Christ. That day we had the most sacred and most amazing lesson. The spirit was so strong and he knew he had to change. This young man has been in jail has done almost every drug you can imagine, has been divorced and he said to us " heavenly father must love me for sending you sisters to me" The lord works in mysterious ways he sent our recent convert to meet him and offer him a place to stay at and he sent us to him. This young man has now been attending church and is taking addiction recovery classes and has been reading his Scriptures everyday and night. He has had a mighty change of heart through the power of the atonement. every time we meet with him he tells us " I don't understand i never saw myself reading the scriptures and doing whats right at this point of my life". the very first time we met with him as we were teaching him i saw him in a white shirt and a tie as  a worthy son of god. It truly was the most sacred experience i have ever experienced. I know the lord cares about his children and i know everyone has their timing to realize the love that the savior has for them

 

I know that i have been sent to this mission for a reason. I love all of the people i teach and i love that i get to be a part of this glorious work. Heavenly father is mindful of all his children. he has sent me to those that need to hear the gospel. I know that if i strive to be an obedient missionary that the Lord will bless me with amazing experiences.

She has made the temple her priority

YATE!! EVERYONE

 

This week has been amazing i have had many experience where I know I'm suppose to be here for a reason and for certain people. This last week the woman that got baptized on Saturday went to the temple to do baptisms for the dead on Wednesday. I'm just so amazed how she has made the temple her priority. Its truly a blessing to be able to see someone change their life.

 This week our area is now a zone which means no more Wal-mart :(  and its sad because in my area there is only one store to buy things and its super expensive but i love it here, i realized how blessed i was back home to have Wal-Marts and stores everywhere i went.. Blanding is a beautiful place and i have met people that i love.

 

This week we have set 5 baptism dates for may we hope and pray that they all can progress and be able to keep their commitments. I had the opportunity to experience something that has helped me on my mission. Me and my companion felt prompted to go to the dorms and when we were walking towards them we saw a woman who we have been trying to meet with for several of weeks, she looks at me and my companion and says can i have a hug? me and my companion look at her and give her a hug, we asked her if she was willing to have a lesson she said yes. It was during the lesson where i realized that heavenly father is mindful of all of his children. this woman had been crying in the park because she felt like her life was a mess and that she couldn't handle it any more she told us that as she was crying in her car she thought of missionaries, and felt prompted to go to the dorms. As she told us this i couldn't help to keep my tears in because her prayer was answered and i know that we were suppose to be there for her. We had no idea why  we were going to the dorms but i now understand why. we were there for her to bring her a tender message that helped her. This woman was so thankful and she helped me build my testimony knowing that our heavenly father knows and cares about his children

 

we also had the chance to teach a Spanish man that lives 30 minutes away from our area. I never imagined that someone was ready to here the gospel and was willing to listen to us. Its truly a blessing to be  able to speak Spanish and help those that  want to be taught. Me and my companion are the only sisters that speak Spanish in our mission. I know that heavenly father prepared both of us. teaching the gospel in Spanish is quite difficult but i know that with the spirit all things are possible.  I'm blessed to be able to start picking up a little bit of Navajo. I'm learning how to say my testimony in Navajo. I might not speak it very well but its a blessing to be able to testify of the things i know in a different language. one of the biggest blessing i get to experience on my mission is being able to teach the natives about their ancestors and to testify that the Book of Mormon was written for them and from their ancestors. This mission is a privilege and a blessing to be able to teach the descendents of Lehi. i love my mission

 

This week i have learned that the lord hears our prayers and loves me as an individual servant. I know this church is true and I'm grateful to be a part of this great and marvelous work.

 

My first baptizim

This week has been an amzing week i had the oppurtunity to see my first baptizim this saturday. Becca is a woman that has changed a lot and i was blessed to see her change her life and enter into the waters of baptism. She is a completly different woman she has changed so much.

the reason that this week was such a blessing was because i had the oppurtunity to extend 4 baptism dates and to see people change it has been a blessing in my life. We were teaching a young girl around her 20's she has had a rough life and to see her feel the holy ghost as we shared the first vision her eyes teard up and she was amazed. She said " i know this is true i just do" those words filled my heart with joy. Its amazing how the holy gost testifys that this church is the church of Jesus Christ.

I also had the chance to teach a women and her young daughter they are from Aneth the reservations. this woman is amazing she has many struggles but to also see her eyes light up as we teach her its just simply a blessing to wittness such a great expirience. She is getting baptized may 11th. I m so blessed to see people get closer to their savior.

We have been working with alot of families and encouraging them how important family home evening is and how it will strengthen their families. I know that the home is a place to learn and haev peace and it is our jobs to make it a home of peace anfd happiness.

I know that being a missionary is hard but just like alma when he was feeling discourage and sorrow because no one would listen to him he was strengthened by the Lord. As i read Alma 8-:14-15 i knew that i have a purpose here and that is to bring heavenly fathers children joy and the fulness of the gospel. I know this to be true. There will be times in our lifes that we may feel in capable of doing such things but our Savior and Our Heavenly father will always be there to help us. He has helped me and i know that he Knows us in particular everything that we suffer and go through. As i teach certain people and see them uppset and the sorrow that they have in their hearts i only can testify that their Lord their savior can help and when they hear those words they know it be true. I know that i have been selected as an individual to bless others life's. How great is my calling!!

families ARE forever

This week has been amazing i had the opportunity to go to a funeral of a young 2yr old boy. I cant imagine the pain of a mother. As i hugged her she whispered in my ear " I'm so thankful families are forever" It truly meant a lot to me that families ARE forever and that one day she will see her son again.

 

This Saturday the 13th one of our investigator Becca will be baptized which truly is a miracle. She has been smoking ever sense she was 12 yrs old and truly when someone knows that they can change through the atonement  of Jesus Christ anything is possible. She says " i don't know how and i don't know why but God has sent you both to save my life" Those words are so precious to me this woman has gone through so much pain has had a harsh life and yet to see her smile and going to church is the greatest blessing. I love her and i love that she now knows she is a Daughter of God.

 

This week one of the members fed us PHO(fah) its an Asian soup it was surprisingly very good. here in blanding there isn't much to do but missionary work is one thing that has to be done here. I love my mission so far every experience that i have brings me closer to my savior who died for me. I truly know this church is the Church of Jesus Christ.

 

I know that the Lord knows what each and one of us are going through but he too also knows what we need. I'm so blessed to be able to teach the children of God and to testify that this Record was written by their ancestors. Its truly a privilege to teach them. I know that my Redeemer lives and loves us all.

Sent here for a reason

Hello everyone I miss you all!! so i figured that id rather have letters them emails from you guys because i have like no time :( I really miss you all

This week i had the chance to eat Navajo tacos!! they are sooo good and i can't wait to learn how to make them!! This week we have been very busy and the next baptism is the 13th of April her name is Becca and she is just Golden!! i'm so grateful to have the opportunity to serve the lord. This Monday our zone gets to go to Mesa Verde! i don't know what it is but i heard a lot of great things about this place. I'm sorry this weekly letter is not very long i only have 20 minutes to email today.

One thing i have learned so far is that i know i have been sent here for a reason to teach certain people its amazing how the Lord knows who i need to teach and what i need to say. I'm grateful to serve his children. I have seen many things on my mission that will help me personally become a better person. It has truly humbled me to become more like my savior. being a convert i had no idea what a big impact i can be to the people i teach. I truly know that I'm suppose to be here!

GOLDEN

YA Te!! everyone this week has been amazing i have realized that in order to teach someone you have to love them first it ha really opened my eyes that i have to see them as children of  God.  Here in Blanding it is very cold but its now getting better its so different then Az. I saw 2 deer when we were driving up to Cortez it was a neat thing to experience. The culture here is so interesting i was at a home with a family that we are teaching and they were explaining to us that the reason why the Indian boys  have long hair when their young, is because their tradition is that they cant cut it until they can fully speak, i found that very interesting. The natives are very kind some are very grateful for the Book of Mormon to realize that it was written by their Ancestors. I'm having a lot of neat experiences with teach them. We do have 3 baptisms coming up on of our investigators we had to extend the date because of some issues her name is Becca she has had a rough life, has done many drugs and wanted to take her own life, when i met her i really didn't think she would be interested but its so amazing how the Lord has his timing for everyone. She loves church and she knows her purpose, we hope to soon see her getting baptized.

 

This last week we taught a Hispanic man Claudio who is just GOLDEN he has soo much faith and is an incredible man he too is going to be baptized. One of the greatest experience  so far was teaching him. Me and my companion are the Spanish sisters for our entire area and zone. That Monday night when we were about to teach i came to realize that its hard teaching the gospel in Spanish but i knew if i went in there with faith and with the spirit that the Lord will help me teach. After we were done it hit me that i taught the Plan of Salvation in Spanish with the spirit i had no idea what to say but i must have said something for him to want to get baptized I know that the Holy Ghost will always guide me and my companion. We meet with him tonight and im soo thrilled to say that he has so much potential.

 

This week We taught Brenda and Kaloya The were investigators before but they really had hard feelings towards missionaries, when we met with them they had a lot of rough things to say to us. As i sat there and listen i felt that this lesson wasn't not going to be successful there was contention in the room and me and my companion could do is sit there and listen to them. They were upset because they felt that they never learned anything from missionaries. As we started our lesson the contention was still there, they were asking very difficult questions, at that moment i felt that i needed to testify to them what i knew to be true as i shared my conversion story and explained to them how we must have faith in everything i look up and they are both in tears, i then realized that the spirit had guided me and my companion to share and testify. They then had no hard feelings towards us they wanted to record us hahah i laugh because in the beginning they didn't want us in their home and in the end they knew that this was true and they wanted the rest of the family to hear this message. I truly testify that if we let the spirit guide us anything is possible!!

 

Im soo thankful for the experiences that i have gone through the Holy ghost guides me what to say , and what to do.

Everyone YA Te!! it means hello in Navajo well I'm having a great time with my companion she is from Arizona. I dint know her but now i do. So the are Banding is awesome very small hometown very humble but i love it.  Blading Utah its sooo humble here holly cow!! Sisters dont cover the reservations but Me and sister Maynez do because we are teaching a woman who only trust woman she lives in the reservation and i get to go teach her this week. I'm a little nervous because i haven't been to the reservations.. i felt soo dumb because when we got to the airport and drove to the mission home i was soo amazed at with all the natives and i thought that all of the trailers were reservations but they laughed and said this was nothing compared to the reservations... i then started to freak out cause man oh man its truly humble here. We visit this young gril her name is lAikyn and usually in the Native culture 6 or more families live in a trailer so you can just imagine what its like. I just want to help people its sad., some don't even have water or heaters:( In blading there is only one Stop light it makes me laugh but seriously its crazy there is nothing here!!! There is one movie theater that only plays one movie on Fridays poor teenagers. The chapel that we attend  has 4 floors its huge!!! the members her are great. Me and my companion are now The Spanish speaking sisters for our entire zone. There is alot of Natives here they are sooo interesting. We currently have set 3 baptisms for the next couple of weeks its soo amazing to see people change there lifes my  companion and i had an awesome week for having 16 lessons and 3 baptism date. I don't have a lot of time to write ill write more next time. I miss you all.
